My name is Shirin, I have a LL.B degree, and having worked for two years in the legal profession, I felt un-satisfied and searched for a new occupational direction. One that will allow me to bring forth all my abilities.

I chose to join the Beyond Dev program (a joint initiative of The Portland Trust Israel and Young Business Leadership) after I have heard of the program and its goals and since I always felt an attraction to the world of technology. To be sure that I am choosing the right frame for my move, I  spoke with graduates from a previous cohort, who highly recommended it.

At first I had many anxieties, but these didn’t last for long! Once the program started, all my fears vanished. During the training, I acquired extensive professional knowledge in an engaging and accessible way. The instructor was always available for questions, even beyond class hours. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, I gained practical tools to exercise with and put my learning into action. On top, the program offered soft skills training and diverse workshops, all aimed to prepare us for job interviews and integration into the workplace.

The support, guidance, and meticulous attention to detail were incredible! They were there for us all along, exceeding my best expectations.

If you are serious about the program, ready to invest and put yourself into it, Beyond Dev will take care of all the rest.

Today, after successfully landing a job, I reflect on my initial anxieties and feel immense gratitude. Firstly, I thank myself for making this significant career decision, and secondly, towards everyone who supported me along the way.

A month into my new job, I had a conversation with my manager. I remember well sharing with him how great I feel having gained a supportive and warm workplace.

Today, after the outbreak of the war, I am sure that I have won a workplace that even in difficult times does not stop supporting its employees in every possible way and emphasizes that we are all one family. The concern of the managers and the desire of the employees to work together and support each other regardless of race, religion or gender of the employee is not taken for granted!
